the lotto, the bitch, and the pantry

just some quick stuff:

slow, character driven episode. takes a little getting used to after all the mythology laid on us the past few episodes.

the dream... the guy in the chicken suit next to jin is the convenience store clerk at the end of the episode, who "outs" hurley as the winner. that makes sense, in a dream sort of logic, as jin was next to him telling him everything was going to change. that guy already forced a huge change in hurleys life.
...so does this mean that jin is eventually going to reveal a secret about hurley to the others (no, not THOSE others) that will make everything change again? does it have something to do with hurley being on korean TV? maybe hurley was an investor in suns dads company, maybe linked to dharma industries somehow?
do the remote viewing studies have something to do with it? is that why walt was the missing kid on the milk carton? is he trying to send a message to hurley/shannon? he played backgammon a lot with hurley, and gave vincent to shannon, maybe he feels a strong connection to them? just speculating.
maybe it was just a dream. :)

i actually thought either the directing or the acting was a bit off during most of the scenes between hurley and rose. they seemed like they were, well... acting.
i didn't really buy the whole sawyer/ana lucia dynamic either. it led to the best line of the night though:
fade to black - "bitch"

great twist with bernard. is there anyone that didn't assume he was gonna be a little darker?
when (if) those two get back together, there won't be a dry eye watching. the candy in her pocket was probably the best scene in the episode. kinda redeemed the whole thing, i think.

i was hoping to see the meteor(ite?) blow up the chicken place. maybe later? there's gotta be some more DJ Qualls coming up. and damn, i never thought to spell anything out with gnomes, we'd always just put them on top of peoples cars or something.
now what exactly is the deal with randy? same name, same actor, seemed like a different character though... maybe lockes boss with the goatee is the evil genetic mirror twin version of him?*
maybe when hurley gets the $$, he buys the chicken place, and sends randy to go work in his box company out in ontario? i'd just fire the guy period, but i think hurleys a nicer soul than me.

so something went really really wrong huh? concrete - chernobyl style.

the other hatch (or station, whatever) had the dharma logo *with an arrow or compass needle pointing up, with dharma written across the middle, like the swan.*

is ana lucia a cop? a fed? or the bad guy? are the remaining tailers afraid of the others or are they afraid of her?
as bitchy as she seems i'd say they've certainly run into the others, why else would they have the hole dug and the weapons?
she took charge like shes some type of officer, rough like the LAPD or military.
she pegged sawyer as a con man and thats why shes rough with him? i dunno, it just seems like they should be more accepted in there, and someone should take a look at sawyers wound. that's why i think they're just as afraid of her.

i may change all of this when i rewatch it, right now i gotta get back to work.

*a joke
